On Oct. 12, 2016, local health care workers visited Life Care Center of Michigan City, Indiana, for a Taste and Tour.
Two doctors and their wives, one nurse practitioner, six case managers, one therapist, one chaplain and 13 doctors’ staffers came by for a 12-minute tour of the building and a take-home pasta meal from a local Italian restaurant, with chopped salad and dessert provided by the facility.
Terri Phillips, executive director, hosted the open house, greeted guests and showcased the lobby, halls, rooms, dining hall and gardens. The main focus of the event was the rehab gym. On the tour, guests could try out some of the equipment, like the Biodex Balance System™ SD machine, and learn more about new therapies.
“We received great feedback,” said Jamin Johnson, business development director. “They loved the rehab options and staffers. The Biodex was clearly something they hadn’t done before, and they found it fascinating, educational and eye-opening.”
Life Care Center of Michigan City had offered Taste and Tour events previously, but this one had the highest turnout.
