On Sept. 20, 2017, Life Care Center of Michigan City, Indiana, hosted a lunch to honor all first responders in the region.
More than 30 police officers, firefighters, EMTs, sheriff’s officers and ambulance staff came to enjoy fried chicken with corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, rolls, chips, pop and a buttercream cake.
The thank-you luncheon is an annual event.
“It went great this year,” said Jamin Johnson, marketing director. “We had our biggest turnout so far. The first responders are grateful that we recognized how they are on the front lines of things. They may not see the positive results of their work on a daily basis, but we do, and we are so thankful for their service to the community.”
“I enjoy having this event every year to show our first responders our appreciation,” said Loretta Burnett, environmental services director.
